Mandated Screenings Performed at School

During the school year, we will assess your child's height and weight and screen their vision. In addition, hearing and scoliosis screenings will be given to 7th graders.  A referral will be sent home if further evaluation from your child's physician is recommended for the results of these screenings. 

If your child submits a private physician physical to our office, this screening information may also be gathered from these forms. 

 

Times: 7:50 am – 2:50 pm. The office is open to all students and staff of PAMS. All students must have a signed pass for admission to the nurse’s office. Exceptions are made in emergency situations. 

All students leaving the building due to illness MUST be dismissed through the nurse’s office. Parents are to sign out their student in the main lobby prior to leaving the building. Transportation is the responsibility of a parent/guardian.

Our goal as school nurses is to help students incorporate healthy behaviors and achieve optimal health status, which enhances their ability to learn. Our nursing interventions encourage student responsibility and independence in becoming healthy adults.
