Zoom Meeting to Discuss MS Plan

Good Morning PAMS Families,

I hope you are enjoying the summer. We understand that everyone has concerns over the opening of school next month. Guidelines and information seem to change on a daily basis. We are preparing to meet any situation.  To help us better prepare for the start of the coming school year, you will be receiving a survey from the District on August 1st asking you to make selections regarding

  • Preferred delivery of instruction,
  • Transportation needs,
  • Access to Technology

The goal of this survey is to assist us in making some decisions surrounding the start of the 2020-2021 school year.  Below is a summary of the questions you will be asked on August 1st so you can begin to reflect on them over the coming weeks.  The survey will need to be completed by August 10th.  However, I am going to be scheduling some Zoom meetings to formally discuss these options.  On Friday July 31 at 10:00 AM and on Tuesday, August 4th at 6:00 PM, I will hold Zoom sessions for those who may have questions or need some additional clarification.  During this time, I will also share detailed school schedules with you depending on the current situation and guidelines in effect by the Governor, the Department of Education, and the Department of Health (6ft social distancing, or completely virtual).  Meeting invites will be sent on July 29.

Question 1 - Delivery of Education:

We are offering two choices for all students K-12 (description of each option can be found at www.pasd.com on the Re-opening School page). You will be allowed to change your selection if circumstances change in the future.

Option 1- In-person/Brick and mortar

Option 2 PASD Virtual Academy (all online)

Question 2 – Transportation Preference:

You will be allowed to change your selection if circumstances change in the future.

Option 1 My child will ride the bus

Option 2 My child has other means of transportation and will not ride the bus

Option 3 My child lives in the walking zone and does not qualify for district transportation

Question 3 – Technology Needs:

All students (registered for in-person or the PASD Virtual Academy) will need access to a computer. We have district-provided laptops or you may choose to bring your own device. You will be allowed to change your selection if circumstances change in the future.

Option 1 My child needs a district-provided laptop/device

Option 2 My child will use his/her own laptop/device

Thank You,

Frank Garritano, Ed.D.
