Posted on 02/06/2018
Cyber patriot studentsCongratulations, to our Phoenixville Middle School’s CyberPatriot team for competing in the Air Force Association (AFA) National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, in which over 65O teams compete nationwide. Our CyberPatriot teams placed second and fourth for the state of Pennsylvania. They now have earned the right to compete for the Semi- Final National competition this February.

The competition includes teams in the position of newly hired IT professionals tasked with managing the network of a small company. The teams are given a set of virtual images that represent operating systems and are tasked with finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities within the images and hardening the system while maintaining critical services. CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air Force Association (AFA) to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation's future.
