Reading Olympics
PAMS Olympians compete at the Chester County Reading Olympics Event
On Tuesday, March 19th three teams of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade PAMS students participated in the Chester County Reading Olympics held at TCHS (Technical College High School) Brandywine Campus. Answering questions about the 45 books on the 2019 Reading Olympics list, the 3 teams rotated through 3 rounds of Olympic questions competing against middle/junior high school students from other Chester County Districts. Our students had a great time and were model representatives of the Phoenixville School District while at the same time winning one blue ribbon and two white ribbons.

The goal of the Reading Olympics is to increase the quality and quantity of books students read for enjoyment.  While student participation in the PAMS Reading Olympics is entirely voluntary, we do have several basic requirements.  Students must read 5-10 Reading Olympics books, develop practice question/answer sheets for each book they read, attend at least one of the monthly after school group meetings, and support their team by attending the annual competition.
