When to keep your child home

  • Has a temperature of 100 degrees or more. Temperatures should be normal (without Tylenol or Advil/Motrin) for 24 hours before they return back to school.
  • Diarrhea and Vomiting during the night or before school
  • Has a productive cough that cannot be controlled with medicine
  • Has been diagnosed with strep infection. They should be on antibiotic for 24 hrs before returning.
  • Has a swollen eye that itches and is draining pus or is crusty upon awakening.
Contact the School Nurse if your child has been diagnosed with a communicable disease such as (not limited to) chicken pox, impetigo, lice, scabies and ringworm.

Please encourage and provide at home proper diet, rest and frequent hand washing to help combat illness.
