Penn’s Civilians Educational Organization

After School Program that focuses on community service as well as teaching students lifelong learning skills. The main project of the group is to provide food for the Chester County Food Bank. The students built and will maintain 4 gardens for the food bank.

The service oriented group gives back to the community and the school. The students cleanup around the school, design posters, create artwork along with cooking a meal for their families. The students will maintain the gardens throughout the school year.

The program engages students in their youth development along with stressing the importance of academic and personal achievement. Penn’s Civilians Educational Organization Website is www.pennscivilians.org.

The mission of Penn’s Civilians:
To increase the academic and social achievements of low socio-economic students and to serve as a resourceful parents, educators and all who seek to enrich the lives of children.

Brian Leister, teacher and board member runs the program with the help of Charlie Kramer, AssistantPrincipal. In addition to Mr. Leister and Mr. Kramer, Ben Spinelli, Lynne Henry, and Barb Shaffer provide their services to the group.
